Some one has probably already done this - but for me it's new!

Wipe/brush all excess grease from racks.

Mount a rotary brass wire brush in the 1/4' drill and buff them up.

This removes all baked on grease and leaves the racks like new shiny.

Use a brass or stainless wire brush as a carbon steel may leave
a slight 'wash' of carbon steel that may cause a orangish rust color.

I use a plastic 55 gallon barrel that has been cut down to 12" in height (just above the first rib). The wsm racks are 18" in diameter and that is larger than most small plastic tubs. Soaking the racks/water pan for a couple of hours loosens up the crud and it comes off with one pass with a brush. I use a high pressure washer for my bigger cookers.
