I tried led lights and they were too hot. Now I wonder if they were 3w and not 1w. I now have the OEM bulbs and with AA to C battery spacers there for allowing me to use AA batteries for my light.

If the light is as bright as the one in the picture that Jon posted earlier, or if it was the one that was called out in the OG mod, then yes, it's a 3W (210 lumens) (price is qty=1)



The 1W (120 lumen) equivalent (price is qty=2):



The 1W lighting is more than adequate, but about half as bright as the OG spec'd LED. I doubt that it will prolong the life of the 9057 much because the 9057 gets so hot from the radiant heat from the grill. It is what it is until someone comes up with a better idea.

This is hard to show because the camera adjusts the AWB exposure and I didn't feel like fussing with the camera settings, but it's more than adequate for my tired old eyes.

Set up a 1500W Halogen work light next to the grill. Doubles as an IR burner.
