Grill Brush and CI Grates

I was just thinking about this having gotten my STOK coated CI grates...

Should I be using a wire grill brush on it? I don't really think so... I think.

I used to remember there was something to using the brass colored one for one type of grate, the silver colored for another. I've only lightly brushed the grates with my regular old silver colored brush a couple of times. I'm just hoping I didn't damage the grate.
 
Yep they're coated. So it's the brass colored brush I'm supposed to use. I'm sure I have one or a dozen laying around or stashed away.

I wanted to make sure because I'd hate ruin my brand new grates. Thanks.
 
on my q i used a brass brush. kinda worked ok but it also would leave a brass color on the grate. i think even weber went away from theirs and only hace ss ones now. anyway i went out and got a standard ss brush and it works much better.
