Hi. My name is Keith Bassham, and I live in the Ozarks in Missouri. I began smoking meats on an ECB and later a Chargriller offset. Hard work, but you learn the basics when you have to do workarounds and keep near the firebox. I acquired my first Weber grill last fall after reading about the tamale pot Smokey Joe conversions. I picked up a nice, barely used SJG on Craigslist, built my mini WSM, and after the first cook or two, decided Weber was the way to go. Since then I have been rounding up and cleaning used kettles, along with an older18.5 WSM I picked up around Thanksgiving. I am enjoying the boards and cooking all I can all the ways I can.
Married, with three grown boys. I’ve been a Baptist preacher 40 years, most of that time in pastoral work. These days I edit publications for our fellowship of pastors and churches and manage an office.
