Greetings from Michigan WSM 22.5

Hi Everyone-

I have had my WSM 22.5" for two months now. I have experimented with two cooks on pork butts, two on beef brisket and one whole turkey. I have made a detailed log sheet to keep track what I have done on each cook so I can improve on the next cook. At this point I have been cooking on the top grate only. Going to start using both grates. I might as well take advantage of the charcoal I am using to the fullest. I have also made a smoking/bbq cart to hold all of my smoking tools. It has four wheels and easily wheels out of my walk out basement to the smoker. It has a stainless steel top and two chrome plated lower shelves.

I do want to thank the virtual weber bullet site for ideas of how to get into the smoking craze. It is so informative on how to do everything from grill set up to your first cook.

I am currently battling Weber about trying to get a new WSM center piece (at a reasonable price) with the silicone grommet for my Maverick thermometer. I bought my WSM Aug 23rd and the new updated WSM came out after that.

That about sums it up
Thx Mick

Yup your right we're crazed about BBQing and grilling around here. Welcome to the forum. If you have a step bit for a drill it's pretty easy to install that grommet I'm thinking. Not sure how big a hole you would need for it.

My first two smoking adventures

I'm not sure I am doing this right to add onto my original post (thread). I love smoking but still learning how to respond in the forum
