Was at Kingsooper the other day and saw this bad boy in the manager's special bin.

Just had to get this bad boy! Never done a fresh ham before, so here it goes! Left the skin on and rub it all down with Butt Rub. On the wsm it goes with pecan for smoke.

It was 50+°f yesterday, and most of the week. Heres what I woke up to this morning.

Well thats Colorado for ya.
Here we are after 6.5hrs.

After 14.5hrs.

Well thats were I'm at now. Its been about 15.5hrs since I put it on the wsm. More pix will follow! Thanks for looking!

Well here it is! Dinner is served.

My plate.

the boy's plate. He got the leg bone.

Well over all it tasted good, but it was pretty dry. I was hoping it would be a little more like pork butt in moistness, but it just doesn't have the fat content to keep it that moist. Next time I think I'll just bring it up to around 160°it and pull it then. A little bbq sauce to make some sandwiches and it will be good, or make a soup.
Well thanks for looking! See ya next cook.

Love your son's plate: a few peas and taters, a bit of roll and a hunka-hunka ham bone love! I vote for tacos! Great work, S.
