How do u clean your grates?
Can you use EZ off oven cleaner on them?
I usualy take them to the car wash and power wash them, let them dry, and spray them with cooking spray.
Got a better idea?

if you have a gas grill, turn it up high and place inside top closed for 10 minutes or until gunk is burned off.

if you have a charcoal grill, fire it up and turn your food grate nds?p? po?u and let the gunk burn off.

or,
remove the middle section of your WSM and place your cooking grate over the coal chamber and set the lid on top.

all three ways i've done and all three ways work well.

Easy Off Oven Cleaner is Great. Put your grates on some layers of newspaper, soak them generously, let sit for a few hour, don your hands wit latex gloves, then take to a water hose, with some steel wool or paper towels and do the detail work. THey will turn out looking like new.

YOu can get "Heavy Duty" Easy Off in 'Generic' Brands fairly cheap, and I have used it and it works just the same. I would, after cleaning, use some good soap and water and clean them off to remove any residual "Easy Off".

Good Luck.
