Got some hazel nut wood!

My neighbors hazel nut tree was hanging over my fence and shading out one of planters, so I pruned it. The neighbor is renting, so he didn't care. I'll let it cure 'till fall and let you all know how it smokes!

Cheers

I love hazelnut on anything pork. I've been buying ground up, compressed hazelnut shell "chunks" for the last couple years from a local source.

that sounds interesting. I've heard people cooking over whole pecans that they didn't want to shell. I love the idea of trying out some "exotic stuff" but it never makes sense to mail order anything when there's always good local stuff. I got a trunk full of apple and cherry for 20 buck and the only shipping I had to pay for was a bit of gas.
