Got a Nexxtech for X-mas

The wife got me a wireless BBQ thermometer for X-mas. Has anyone used one of these?

I have pretty much gone away from wireless therms, they just have too many problems. Get a Thermapen and then at least you can check the accuracy. I find a lot of these types of unit read find at a temp range but can be way off as the temps go up.
I have never seen Nexxtech units.
I hope this unit works well for, it would be nice to find one that you can really count on.

So far my Mavericks been fine for me.

I don't like the turn on routine though. I just don't like having to open that little cover to turn on the transmitter.I always seem to have to realign the gasket, and fiddle with it in general to get the cover back on. I understand what they're trying to do though.

the switch is inside the unit sealed behind the gasketed door for weather tightness.
