Good deal????

I wouldn't think so. I mean that's priced at about what a brand new Weber Kettle costs. So a casual grill buyer won't pay a premium for it. A Weber guy might spend a little more since it's a unique deal, but that's still not a huge margin even in that case.

If I had the space I'd buy it and leave that tag on it and use it as a patio cooler for parties and BBQs.

Thanks guys. For me it would be a buy and sell proposition. I was hoping maybe the JCPenny edition would possibly hold a bit more value along with the red color.

I'm sure you could flip that for some money with it being brand new in the box. Certainly not many JC Penney Weber grills floating around these days.

You'd just have to put it somewhere like eBay to maximize profit for a flip like this.

It would be a 50 mile drive so, I am guessing the time and gas and hassle would pretty much wipe out any real profit. I was hoping it was one of those rare barn finds that was worth $200. I deal mostly with gas grills and I don't know a whole lot about the coal burners other than the fact that some of them are surprisingly valuable.

It would probably be worth more if it had JCPenney on the actual Kettle. Since they are about to be a retail relic, that would help. But as it is, just looks like a normal red kettle. Which is nice, but not something that will pull a premium.

It does have JC Penny on the handle in raised lettering. But I think you are right, just nothing special enough to bring a good turn around price.

Boy, for $80 to just leave it in its box, and wait for J C Penney to go belly up, you guys are harsh! In fifty years it will probably be worth $125( wow!)
I’m going to go make a cocktail!
