[GONE] Free Weber Genesis 1100: North Cali (Los Altos)

Thanks for posting. I’m on the opposite side of the country, but it would make me happy to see this grill have another life rather than go to the scrappers as I believe most around here do.

Welcome to TVWBB, Joey. That's a nice looking Genesis 1100. You should grab it. The slide lock is a very tough part to find .

Same here and it's free!

I found this website last week and got motivated to restore one. Found a 2013 Copper Genesis E-330 for $50 pretty good condition and thought I did ok... Now this shows up... As I read more on this site, doesn't seem this period of Genesis is liked?

You did great! That's a beautiful looking grill; the copper is gorgeous! Many on here have an affinity for the older grills with the controls on the right (called e/w around here). You have a really nice one there with a sear burner and side burner. The only problem with a grill like yours is rust can quickly destroy the cabinet. It would be worth your time and effort to completely disassemble the grill so you can remove any visible rust on the cabinet, coat it with a rust converter/encapsulator, and repaint it.

Check out this thread to see what can happen to these cabinets and how to deal with it:
https://tvwbb.com/threads/new-addit...advice-appreciated-weber-genesis-e-310.79462/

Though the how to restore threads mostly feature e/w grills, all the techniques and tips will apply to your grill, like cleaning the porcelain enamel hood, cleaning the valves, etc. Please take lots of pictures to document your progress and start a thread on your restoration. I love the colored Genny's!

I want to say this is in really good condition but then again what I think and what it actually is may differ. I will start another thread in the gas grill section and ask for some guidance on it. Appreciate the link!

Good idea Joey. You will get a lot of good advice over in the gasser section. Nice pickup.
