I can't imagine that anyone would be interested in this, but I've been watching the Scottish Open final while checking our TVWB. Sir Nick Faldo made a historical comment that the course used to be 22 holes but was shortened to 18 which became the standard. 18 holes was chosen because 18 is the number of holes in a bottle of Whisky. Play a hole, drink a shot. Then he added, last man standing wins!

Would have expected nothing less from "Snippy Nicky" as he used to be known as whole playing. He's on the way out anyway. In actuality, 4 short holes were combined into 2 thus 18 was how it was determined. Can't wait to watch this weekend-The Old Course is the home of golf.
