Giant Jucy Lucy’s

My wife bought me a Jucy Lucy maker for Father’s Day. She had heard about them and
wanted to see what they could do to a burger. So this was a first time experience for both of us.

First off, some apple and pepper bacon on the performer for the burgers.

Hamburger was seasoned with Penzeys Old World Seasoning. Burger number 1 was filled with
Pepper Jack cheese, sliced jalapenos, onion and cooked garlic from the other day.

Burger number 2 was filled with Horseradish cheddar, Pepper jack, sliced jalapenos, sliced
olives, onion and garlic.

Burgers number 3 and 4 were filled with Extra Sharp Cheddar and Swiss cheese, onion, garlic and homemade BBQ sauce.

Burgers ready for the performer. Toothpicks to remind me which ones had the jalapenos (1 & 2).
3 was for my wife’s burger.

Burgers onto the grill (removed toothpicks, but knew which of my CI grates I put what burgers (for now

Bacon removed from the grill at this time.

Off of direct and indirect until done. Switched my toothpicks around since the jalapeno ones
were visible. Looks like I need to learn how to put the “top” on correctly.

Burgers were extremely delicious, juicy and cooked to a medium rare as we both like them.
With burgers this size will have to try and find some larger buns. Not too bad for the first time.

Thanks for looking!

VeryCoolMike!
Those guys look like AT LEAST a pound each!
I'll betcha a buck they were OUTSTANDING!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! They were suppose to be 3/4 lb burgers Jim, but I think you are right, closer to the 1 lb mark. Yep John, them are small buns, gotta find some larger ones for the next time I make these.
