Genesis wood handle question.

As you can see the handle on mine has seen better days.

I have a newer old handle I’m going to put on. The old handle bows towards the ground, the new handle I have also has a slight bow. I would have thought these bowed in the direction you pull the handle from but is it gravity and time and probably moisture causing the sag? Should I install the new one with the slight curve at the top??
