Genesis Restoration one of the Twins

I really like that black out. I think Weber should have put those out from the factory. It just makes them look "classy".
Thanks Bruce! This is my third one recently and I've been enjoying doing them. Between this one and my Genesis ii S-345 and my Performer Deluxe.

I'm considering getting a new dewalt impact gun just out of curiosity. Mine is a decade old maybe more and it has served me very well but I'm curious about I new one with higher torque and higher speed. I know from the base model to the one I have now is a huge difference and I wonder what the difference would be from my 10 plus year old to a new one with higher specs.

I imagine you would notice a difference. The impacts that I have are Ridgid brand and I really like them but they are "Sub Compact" and I am sure it has lower specs than your impact. It is super handy for my grill work where most of time a less aggressive approach to removing and tightening bolts is a good thing and provides more control. I would not want to use it for something like building a deck however.

Brass coated carbon steel. Nothing super special I believe the brass coating is to prevent rusting of the steel bristles.
That is kind of what I thought. I want a set of SS bristled ones for working on my SS Platinum grills. If you use carbon steel brushes to clean up welds and other stuff, they leave behind tiny pieces of steel that rust, making your welds look like you used non-SS wire to weld with.

But, I like the way those brushes clean up the inside of those grill lid liners.

That Makes sense

I can probably find what you're looking for. I recently bought some higher-end high quality wheels for my bench grinder.

Larry if you wanted one I would be more than happy to gift it to you.
That is more than generous and truly appreciated! But the kind of craftsmanship people like you, Jon, Bruce, and many others puts into those projects does not go unnoticed. And believe me...................it could not go "unpaid" (somehow) by myself.
I just marvel at those photos.
But, I get the devotion to quality and craftsmanship. I'll confess, to some of the same thing with the mixers I rebuild. Though I must admit to getting a little more "profit driven". Back in the day, I was not immune to getting a real dog of a machine, and even resorting to hand refinishing it.
Inevitably I would lose my shirt on every one of them. Because no one could see the level of care and time it took to refinish one correctly.
So, now when I get a decent runner but ugly, one of 2 things happens with it. I scrap it for parts, and toss the rest or I rebuild it mechanically and donate it.
Though now lately especially in the climate since Covid and all the shortages and price increases, I find more often I have to use them for parts. Especially since I've been trying so hard to not do a price increase. I've resorted to a lot of things. Cash only, (keeps the IRS from snooping) so no checks, electronic payments, CC, etc or I add in a 10% fee
People have been cool. They "Get it".
In any case my hat's off to all of you fine craftsmen

I couldn't find any options in the same brand that I bought for my bench grinder. I did check Amazon again and they have a ton of options that they didn't have before. I might end up trying something new from Amazon again. Anyways here's an example of one of the SS wire wheels available. Have no idea how good it is. I know I've had bad luck with wire wheels from Amazon so far. But I'm willing to try more.

Thank you Larry I always appreciate your support!
Have any of you thought about trying something like this? https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-b...der-tool-only-59610.html?gStoreCode=114&gQT=1
I know when I would have to finish or cut something off back in my heavy car working days my little air powered ones were life savers
Looks like a really nice little unit. I most likely will stick with DeWalt because I have all the batteries and chargers already. They have worked really well for me and taken a beating over the last decade+ without fail.
