Thanks for the added info on the knobs. I washed those too and they did not come out to my satisfaction either. I wondered if the bleach would discolor them, but I could not remember how I once cleaned my platinum daily. Here is current pic of the knobs after a once over with dawn. I still need to remove the ignitor.

There's no way around it if you want that stuff to be clean and look good, you have to soak it in bleach.

You're also going to need bar keepers friend to clean the stainless inserts in those tables, nothing else will get them really clean and shiny again.

I literally soak all the plastics for days in a bleach, dawn and bar keepers friend solution. They come out looking good, then plastic brush them and rinse in hot water. Get a scrub daddy. They do wonders

If you have something that you can fit everything into and leave it, I'm sure that would be ideal. I soak all my stuff in the kitchen sink, overnight if necessary. No matter how you do it exactly, bleach and something good to scrub the tables with are essential.

Mothers brand polish on SS or any metal is a must have in my work shop. To bring back SS to like new no matter how bad it's stained or charred. If it's severely stained it can take some elbow grease but most times it doesn't take much effort. Also a little trick that I've learned if you sprinkle a little bit of baking flour on it when you're rubbing it out it rubs out even easier to an even higher shine. I learned this when I was detailing stainless and aluminum on semi trucks when I was a teenager.

Went to remove the bottom cancer and found some rust on the bottom of the wheel assembly cross member where the panel rested on. I will have address that eventually, Josh, I see you beat me to my next question.

That rust wash will clean right off. I thought the same when I got mine. Bruce told me about the BKF and a scotch brite, which worked great.

I have a slop sink in basement that can hold a ton of stuff. It didn’t get used much so I took it over. And the wife prefers I not use the kitchen sink. So it’s a win-win really.

I just use my wheelbarrow for soaking parts but I rarely soak anything.

Make sure the sink is a "non reactive" material. Fiberglass, stainless steel, etc. Know a concrete sink or stone can be negatively effected by the chemicals in use

Cody, I believe you found the color gray paint for shelf end caps trim. How are the ones you painted holding up. Did you put that on a keeper or flipper.

You should do one of these Genesis Gold or Platinum grills, half the grill is plastic stuff you just have to get clean again. Super easy work compared to a Genesis 1000.

I can't get past the plastic look. It ruins it for me with all the plastic. I don't mind putting in the extra work. It's more rewarding for me that way. I'm not bashing on the plastic era Weber's they just aren't for me. I respect other people grill preferences though and most anything with the Weber name.
