Genesis II x-435 side burner

I just got a new Genesis II SP-435, which seems to be a UK-only hybrid (other terms may be more apt) between the S-435 and the E-435 models supplied in the USA, in that it has the stainless steel trims of the S-435 and the enamelled grate of the E-435. No stainless steel grates here! :(

Anyway, the knob supplied with the side burner didn't match the rest of the control knobs.

The side burner knob doesn't have the chrome trim of the main knobs. In fact it looks suspiciously like the knob from a ~2017 Spirit II model.

As well as the cosmetic difference, the "D" on the shaft is oriented 180deg out compared to the main knob.

Since the side burner control is the same orientation as the main burner, with the flat on the "D" up when off, this means that the knob fits upside down.

The red marker indicates the burner is on when it is in fact off, as shown in the image above. It then rotates counter clockwise pointing away from the marks on the grille fascia, until it reaches the "off" position when the burner is actually on! Not very safe, IMO.

I thought that perhaps the control had been fitted upside down but, of course, changing that would put the gas feed on the wrong side, so that wasn't the problem.

The other difference in the side burner knob is that the shaft is 1/2" shorter than the main burner knobs, to compensate for the fact that the side burner control protrudes 1/2" further from the fascia than the main controls.

I called Weber service and they said they would send out the "correct" knob in a day or so. Great! :)

Not so fast!

What arrived was just a main burner knob which, as shown in the 2nd photo above, has a longer shaft. :(

So now at least the side burner indicator has a chrome trim and points in the right direction, but sits 1/2" further from the fascia than any of the main control knobs, looking like a complete bodge - nothing like the photos on the Weber web page.

Can any other owners of 435 (or even 335) models tell me if they got matching style and size knobs for the side burner with their grill, or do they all look like they were dug out of the left-over sack? :(

Update.

After a couple of failed attempts, Weber finally sent the correct knob today. For anyone with similar issues, the item is Product Code 66398.
