Genesis E-320 leaking gas...

I recently bought a used Genesis E-320 as has been documented in other threads on here. Shortly after purchasing it, I lost almost an entire tank of gas to a leak. I couldn't find the leak using soap & water, so I finished that tank off closing the valve after each use (after removing the tank and re-attaching the hose and re-verifying the connections to the best of my ability). After that, I had both my tanks filled, hooked one up, and checked for leaks. I used the grill for several days with the tank valve left open with no signs of leaks (bottle level did not change while not in use and I never smelled any gas around the grill). Until yesterday when my wife walked by the grill and smelled gas again. She, obviously, shut the valve on the tank off right away. But I'm left wondering...what would cause a leak to develop when the grill had been left sitting there, covered and unused, for 3 days? Is this likely a problem with the regulator or is there some other connection somewhere that seems more likely?

I've seen where some have reported that the knobs spin too freely and sometimes get turned when putting the cover on??

Might very well be the regulator is going south. I had that on my Ducane same scenario, replaced the regulator no more problems.
