Genesis 1000 Thermometer Bracket?

Is there a bracket or something that’s supposed to hold this thermometer in place on the inside of the hood?

Grease and carbon build up holds mine in place.

There is no other bracket I'm aware of.

My 1000 is overdue to be cleaned.

Nope, just the holder for it on the outside of the lid.

Yep, it should just be held in by the outside mount.
