Genesis 1 Restoration: Mission Accomplished

I actually have 2 items left; new axle caps for the scale rollers and main axle, as well as the main axle itself. Caps are on order, axle tbd. And I'm keeping an eye out for a better drip pan.

Overall, it's not as perfect as I'd've liked, but I'm satisfied, and my wife is delighted. It was her father's grill, now renewed for our own sunset years, and possibly even to be passed on to another generation.

Beautiful grill. Good work. Wish I still had my 2. I'd like to find a Red hood for the '99 1000XL I did last fall
I looked at a few Weber's on Facebook Marketplace, so now they're coming thru my feed constantly. Most have black or green hoods, but occasionally a red one pops up. These things are so old and decrepit now they range anywhere from free to usually only $75. I keep looking at them 'cause I'd like to get a better drip pan. Good luck on the Red Hood.
