Gasket or try to reshape it?

Still having issues with heat controll. I believe because the cooker is out of round. Read the links provided for me yesterday-forget who but thanks.

Here is a pic of the gap between cooking chamber and bottom

Also look at how the vents aren't flush-is this right?

I'd call Weber and get 'em to send you a new bottom. The bottom-to-middle section fit is unacceptable, and even if tweak-able, the vent fit is very poor, to say the least.

I'd take a few measurements to check the middle section for out of round, and that could probably be tweaked, along with the door. Good luck with it, and rest assured that Weber should be helpful in taking care of your issues. My wsm's have great fit and low temps are a breeze, water in the pan or not.

I bought a a used 2006 cooked on twice with the bowl out of round by 1/2". It's quite common for them to be out of round unfortunatly. I used pipe clamps to bring it back and then added the gaskets. Works great now. The door is something you can shape yourself. Just have to work with it. Read upon it on this site to help with that.
Glad Weber are helping you out. Their service is great.
