What is it from? If an early 1st generation Genesis I may be able to get ya goingI’m not even sure what to do from here. Any tips?
It’s a genesis 1000 lx. So I think a 1997 modelWhat is it from? If an early 1st generation Genesis I may be able to get ya going
Come on now, how did it happen lolI’m not even sure what to do from here. Any tips?
I bought screws to replace the old rusty ones. The head on the screw is bigger than it should be. When lightly tightened it put odd pressure on the cap and cracked it :/Come on now, how did it happen lol
Crappy screws were used with slightly too large of a headOuch! How did it happen
I appreciate it very much. Didn’t the entire Genesis line up until the 2000s use the same style valve?I know I had a brand new valve for one of those, but I didn't see it the last time I dug through my stuff. I'll look again for it.
The thread fits perfectly so it is #4-48. But the head itself is slightly too big. It caused a stress point when it pushed up against the capUmmm - like I mentioned - I think they may be metric - maybe m3(?)

Don't appreciate me too much until I find it, I'm afraid it's in the same place as the new tank scale I know I had but can't find either. The valves were basically the same, yes. There were some variations though. I even have a manifold that has two different valves on it, but they work the same obviously.I appreciate it very much. Didn’t the entire Genesis line up until the 2000s use the same style valve?
thank you so much. As for now the valve still operates completely normal. I don’t believe gas will leak outLet me check my back garage tomorrow (dark and raining here now) so I'll run back there tomorrow AM. I seem to recall seeing an old manifold hanging in that garage when I took the tractor out yesterday. I know it's a 1st generation but stripped for a few parts but valves were intact and I only owned 1st generation grills
Best not to chance it.thank you so much. As for now the valve still operates completely normal. I don’t believe gas will leak out
How did this happen?
Likely a clogged burner tube which caused a "back burn". I've seen it more times than I care to. Last one I saw it really bad on was a guy's Viking grill he was trying to sell. I turned right around and walked away. I hate trying to deal with all that messHow did this happen?
