My family and I have been camping at Garner State Park every summer since I was 6 years old (I'm now 31). The trip we made last week packed some of the worst weather I've experienced while camping. The night (at about 5am) of this particular storm packed winds with gust in excess of 60mph! On to the pictures...
Here is a screen shot of the storm a few hours after it passed.
Here is what was left of the canopy we put over our picnic table.
Here are the bent polls.
The other canopy that we sleep under was one of those white 4 wall garage stype canopies people use to park their cars in. It was completely ruined. I don't have any pictures of it.
The pecan trees large branches came out of.
And here is what was left of the branches after the park staff sent them through a wood chipper.
Sacked up to transport home and let cure!
I also got my hands on a few pecan and mesquite logs. I cant wait to do a lot of smoking with those wood chips once they are ready! You'll get to see the results of those bbq sessions!
