I have three racks of spares rubbed down ready for the wsm tomorrow for the superbowl. I also have a chuck roast in the freezer that I was going to throw on as well.

Can I put it on frozen? I have done butts that way, but not sure with the beef... thanks for the help!

If you are into that sort of thing, yes it's Ok.

well, not sure that Im into that kind of thing... but not sure how well the rub will stick to a frozen piece of meat.

Ive used mustard on pork, just not sure how it will work on beef. Anyone tried it before?

I don't make a habit of coating with mustard before rubbing but it won't hurt anything so feel free! Normally I don't have a problem with the rub sticking to a frozen product, having said that I don't rub it right in I just sprinkle on the surface. If you're having trouble just pull it off the smoker after an hour or two and rub it then.

For the mustard working on beef question. Mustard tends to lose its flavor during a long cook so it won't really make any difference flavor wise in the end.
