Free sugar maple in the Ottawa area

Just talked to the guy from Hydro and they want to take down a large sugar maple in my front yard. This tree will provide more wood than I could use in my life so if anyone wants some let me know, it should be coming down in the next week or so. Also if your interested in some birch, has a nice light faintly sweet smoke, they are taking down a bunch of those also.

Did you keep some of that wood? Was just thinking about locating a source of free wood around here. Worst part is, I don’t drive…

Hey Alex, yes I have lots. About a cord split and another 11/2 cords unsplit. What area of town you live in? I also have a bunch of birch.
