Happened to me today. Got a letter from IDES saying I was approved for unemployment.
Supposedly I filed on 12/20/2020 and my last day of work was 3/15/2020. ( I retired 10/1/2019)
Went online and reported fraud to IDES, got on the call back list. Called my bank and the Sheriff.
He said they were getting hundreds if not thousands of calls a week on the same thing. They go in waves he said from village to village or school districts to municipal offices. He also said his officers have been getting them.
They have a couple theory's, one is someone on the inside is pumping out fake claims just to get federal relief.
Idunno but I felt better after talking to him.

Same thing Winnebago Cty Sheriff told me. They're not even taking reports. I will PM you with the name and number of a guy who helps with this stuff. He got wife and I (she got hit about 10 days ago). Could be worthwhile to check him out
