Picked up some chicken parts on Friday evening. All were marinated overnight with several different marinades.
After We got the wings in the refrigerator my wife asked about taking sunrise pictures in the
morning. So we got up around 5:00 and drove an hour to Jekyll Island, GA and got the following:
Marinated first set of wings with Yoshidas and dusted with BBQ 3000; 2nd set of wings were marinated with cajun injector Buffalo Butter and dusted with Ancho Chili pepper; The legs were marinated with raspberry walnut vinaigrette and dusted with John Henry's Raspberry Chipolte rub. The thighs were marinated with jalapeno lemonade, which my wife found at the Home Good Store and dusted with John Henry's jalapeno rub.
Onto the ROL with some pecan chunks; While the chicken was cooking I made some orange marmalade sriracha sauce. Once the sauce was completed I then brushed it on one set of wings, 2 thighs and 2 legs. My wife doesn't like too hot of spice and I sorta deviated from the recipe by cutting down on all the ingredients except the marmalade and doubled the sriracha sauce
I brushed these every 10 minutes until they were done.
Chicken is done!
The orange marmalade sriracha wings, legs and thighs.
The yoshida wings, raspberry legs and jalapeno lemonade thighs.
Plated with spanish style saffron rice and another of my favorite drinks.
The chicken tasted super! The raspberry legs were probably the best out of all the chicken, with the orange marmalade sriracha wings coming in a real close second. The jalapeno lemonade thighs had a very unique taste to them. Can't really describe the taste, except delicious. And as my wife says Yoshida's goes good on everything (one of my wife's favorite marinades).
Thanks for looking!
