I am and always have been of the opinion that for the first cook you need to do the biggest pork butt you can find. It is hard to screw it up, doesnt mind if the temps get wacky for a while, best reason is it really seasons the cooker. Dont sell a cooker after one use, give it another go, get up at 4AM chuck a big hunk of pork on there and have yourself a late dinner. You will be glad you kept the bullet.
