I gave wok cooking a run on my new kettle last night for the first time and wow do I like it! Coming from my BGE I wasn't sure how it would work out but I will say I think it does it better. Popped out the center and the 16" wok sits right down on the coals. I still have my kick ash basket from the egg so I piled the coals inside that which kept them nice and tight to the wok. I might have to cut or bend the handles on the basket though because the wok actually sat on them which made it a little wobbly. Otherwise it worked real good and kept the heat tight under the wok instead of burning my hands. Not something I would say is worth buying one for but since I have it already, I'll use it.
The height was easier on my arm and the extra space around the edges to catch my various splashes and random flying broccoli bits was very nice too. Can't say my dog likes that part too much but it sure is easier on the porch and clean up. Definitely something I will do more often for sure.
