First time Genesis C

You might be able to salvage that front trim piece, but it is going to look pretty bad with the rust pock marks. You can just remove it and leave it off. Many of Webers Genesis grills didn't even come with that panel. That bottom back cross member is likely salvageable if it is just the connector that is rusted out. The tank scale is salvageable as well with some rust remediation. It too will likely have some rust pock marks but it wont affect the usability of the scale and isn't readily visible any way.

How does the side burner look?

Thanks for the reply Bruce. So that trim is purely cosmetic? I wonder if could clean it up/flip it around? I agree on that cross member, it looks like just the connector.

Side burner looks like maybe it's never even been used. Maybe a little dab of surface rust on the corners of the grate

You have got a solid start for sure. Are you in a hurry for getting one restored? If you can wait until Black Friday there are usually great deals on parts on Amazon then. Or if you can get it up and running, it would be a good time to look for some deals.

I agree with most of what was said by the others. If it is a keeper, I would at minimum replace the crossover tube. You can usually find them in the $12-15 range, but I would also highly recommend just replacing the burners and bars, @ $45 - its basically getting the burners for free

This set of bars is heavy and nice as are the burners. These are the Votenli ones that have been evaluated by several here (myself included), and all agree are about as good as you can get - short of the beautiful Dave Santana pieces.

The cookbox bolt area looks pretty solid.

I would still keep an eye for a curb alert though.

I noticed the warming rack on the parts guide is "not available" on amazon. Is there another preferred one? this is the one that's on the list.

Last time I looked there were a bunch of different branded ones available on Amazon with the same part#. I'm pretty sure they are all the same.
