Hello all! The butts turned out awesome. I rubbed them with chile powder, minced garlic, onion powder, and a little cayenne pepper. Started around 10pm Saturday night and they were done around noon the next day. it was a cold night but only refueled once to be on the safe side. Did them @ 225-250 low n slow! Here are the pics!

I don't know how the Kingsford worked for you, but I've had to stir the coals on long cooks to stoke the fire because of all the ash. Now I use Stubbs if I'm going to bed, but I hear one thing to do with the K, just to be safe, is to tap the cooker legs a few times before hitting the sack, and do it again the next morning after you get up.

Try bbq nachos for the leftovers. Make just like a Taco Bell Nacho Supreme or similiar, and sub bbq for the taco meat, and bbq sauce for the salsa.

Then go to the turkey section on the forum and read the posts. It will give you a good idea on how to start. I love to brine the bird. They ALWAYS come out"off the hook"
