Hello all
Spent the last week wondering what should be my first cook on my new mini and decided to use the the beginners section of the cooking topics on TVWB site. I chose chicken as it seemed like the most forgiving for my first cook.
Headed out to fresh and easy for the chicken and came back home with a 6lb bird. I butterflied the chicken as per the sites directions and used Kicking Chicken rub.
Used Kingsford blue with apple wood chips wrapped in aluminum foil. Waited for the mini to get nice and hot.
Sat back and enjoyed So Cal's beautiful sunshine rays and a nice cold one.
After about a hour and 4 beers, the chicken was ready to get some direct heat love form the coals to crisp up the skin a bit.
The end result of my first cook on my Mini WSM
Here its all plated up and ready for the table. Just had it with leftovers form the weekend. Peas, rice, & baked potatoes.
Noting special, just my first entry to the picture thread. Hope to someday be as good as the rest of you guys and gals.
Thanks for looking
