Upgraded from the Weber Platinum to the Performer. Gas assist is a beautiful thing. The bigger work surface is waaay better than the two smaller tables in the platinum.

Congrats on your new family member! I've always felt pictures of the Performer never did it justice. Someone can talk about how the height, gas assist, and large working surface are so nice - but until you actually USE it, you can't fully appreciate the amenities.

My favorite grill by far, and so versatile. After I got my Performer, I saw it start replacing some of the smaller cooks that I would normally use for my WSM.

You're exactly right. I bought the Platinum because I thought... Bah, gas assist, who needs that. Bah, 2 tables are better than one... Bah.
