Here I am 2 hours into a nice baby back smoke and the thunderstorm hits! What a way to start my first cook on my new bullet!!

I was maintaining a nice steady 225 until the rain hit. With all vents open and an inverted potter over the top vent (it has holes in it, yet is heavy enough not to blow off), I'm holding at 210.

Anyone have any good tips for rain / windstorm cooking beyond doing whatever you can to keep water out and temperature up?

Pete

I started cooking on the front of the house since my patio is screen only and no cover. I've made temp. shelters from sawhorses, cardboard, wood strips and styrofoam blocks before. Hope it turns out well!

cant help with the wind, but in a pinch, i once used a clean plastic trash-can lid over the top.

the indent in the lid fits into the WSM handle & doesnt block the top-vent. i just left it like that till it stopped raining.

I bought a 10'x10' Ez-Up from Sam's Club for $199. It has sides you can put on it too to block the wind.
