First Chuck Roast

Just completed my first WSM chuck roast. It was 4.8# seven bone. Went 10 hours at 250, foiled at 163 (after 6.5 hrs). Rested about an hour and pulled...wonderful!

Just a quick question....could you take this kind of a roast and drop it in as the meat in Chilli?

I mean do all your other seasonings and vegies and then use the roast that you did on the WSM and let it fall apart with all the other ingredients?

Thoughts? Or no?

Absolutely. I've not done it with chilli, but have with vegetable and minestrone soups that my wife makes. Gives the soup a nice smokey flavor and a whole new dimension IMO. A meal by itself.

Very nice looking chuck Don, great job. Yes to using it in chilli, tacos, chuck roast & cheddar omlet, enchiladas... or whatever else you want to.
