i know many of you like to use the weber firestarter cubes but i found a much cheaper alternative. if you live in toronto then you probably have a Dollarama near you. they carry firestarter cubes (14 cubes per package) for $1. i use only one cube per chimney. they are by a company called Concept Inferno. here is the product detail from their website..

I've been using something similar since I bought my WSM. There are a couple different brands, they are all pretty much sawdust & wax. Wally World stocks them, usually during the colder months for starting fireplaces.Shove a single one into a bottom hole of a charcoal chimney, fire it up... 15 minutes later you have coals.
