How do you make the fire last so long. I can only get four hours. I used the minion method and the snake method. I have a 22.5 WSM.
The ribs come out great. Know I won't to do pork shoulder and a brisket.
 
If I fill my charcoal ring to the top with charcoal (regardless of lump or briquettes) and dump a half (or whole) chimney of lit on it (depending on my desired cooking temp), I'm gonna get more than four hours cooking time running in "BBQ range" (225 - 275*).

There has to be more to your story. I'll be happy to help as I know others here will as well. Please describe how you are set up from start to finish.
 
Hmmm, with a filled charcoal ring, I got over 16 hours at 225 last weekend. I just tossed about 10 briquets when I noticed the DX2 fan running a long time. Same about 6 hours later.
 
I fill my charcoal ring to the top with 4 or 5 fist sized chunks of wood mixed in. I light it in 3 places with a high output propane torch. No problem.

Something isn't right. A couple of pictures would help. Forget the snake method in the WSM.
