are you guys able to shut vents on wsm and have the fire go out in a timely manner? I think i would save a lot in fuel if it would shut down as the bge does. Any ideas? thanks.
 
When I pull the meat off I close the vents and the fire is gone and temps drop within 15-25 min, cool to the touch by 1hr for my 18.5 WSM.
 
When I first got my 22" I would shut all the vents and the coals would continue to burn until gone. Now that it is well seasoned and the gunk has sealed all the small air leaks, I can close the vents and the fire is out in 20-30 min.
