Ingredients

16 oz. package of saltine crackers

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. onion powder

1/2 tsp. black pepper

4 Tbsp. (about 2 packages) ranch dressing mix

3 Tbsp. red pepper flakes

2 cups olive oil

Instructions

1. Using a large gallon Ziploc bag, pour in the olive oil, seasonings, and spices. Close the bag and knead to thoroughly mix the ingredients together.

2. Place all 4 sleeves of crackers in the bag, re-seal, and gently turn the bag over several times to coat the crackers with the spice mixture. The more times you do, this the better the coating.

3. Let the bag sit overnight.

4. Remove crackers and lay out on a baking sheet. Bake at 250°F for about 15 minutes.

Note: If you are short on time, the crackers still taste great skipping the baking in Step 4.

Hmmm….

Tim, did you see the one I posted 3 weeks ago? It was on my "Eat Your Spice Rack" thread using Za'atar.

Need a new party starter for the holidays?

Za'atar Fire Crackers

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup Za'atar
1 tsp garlic powder
Freshly ground black pepper
8 oz. saltine crackers (about 2 sleeves)

1. Combine olive oil, vegetable oil, Za'atar, garlic powder and a few grinds of pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Massage bag to mix. Add saltines and seal bag. Turn and gently shake to coat crackers. Let sit at room temperature 8-10 hours.
2. Preheat oven to 250. Bake crackers on a rimmed baking sheet until golden and crisp, 13 to 17 minutes. Let cool.
Crackers can be baked 5 days ahead. Store airtight at room temperature. 6 to 8 servings
