Fig Wood?

So my wife planted a fig tree that's growing like a weed. Cutting back the branches is standard practice, so I will have some decent sized fig twigs. I know, not chunks, but I could soak them a bit and use them in the smoker.

I know the general rule is that fruit wood is good to go, but has anyone ever used fig before, and if so, how were the results?
 
Curt - I think fig would be awesome to try smoking. I love dried figs; one of my favorite snacks. Give it a shot and let us know how it turns out...

Try to burn some of it in the smoker.
And if you like what you smell go ahead and smoke some meat and report back what you think of the taste.
 
I have used fig wood, don't hesitate. It is wonderful on poultry and pork. Never tried it on beef.
