I get some recipes from here, especially if people are raving about it. I also go to Weber Nation and obviously, I own several BBQ books.

(What I`ve been doing since I started smoking was to take someone elses recipe and tweak it afterwards. So the first time I make something, the recipe is someone elses, afterwards I will take notes and ask others what they thought. Sometimes a recipe needs some more heat, sometimes less so I really try to make the people I cook for happy.

My kids like things a bit more sweet and the adults like things with a little more heat so I usually do two different rubs and sauces when I do ribs. Keeps everyone happy.)

At this point, I`ve put together around 10 different recipes based on what my family and friends like so...

I like to look here for non BBQ inspiration.

whats4eats.com

It is a collection of International dishes, searchable by ethnicity/country, ingredient class, and/or type of dish. Lots of interesting new flavors.

I have gotten ideas for most of my BBQ recipes here. The engineer in me puts them in a spreadsheet, looking for typical content and ratios. Then I adjust for my own taste. I have a nice pork butt rub that I like now. And a nice BBQ sauce. I'm not comp guy, so it's just a matter of what I like.

For other recipes, I follow a few favorite shows on Food Network, and download recipes I like. Then I also follow the RSS feeds of several food/recipe blogs:

Epicurious
Serious Eats
Simply Recipes
Smitten Kitchen
Homesick Texan
Saveur
Atlantic Magazine Food
Michael Ruhlman
Eat Me Daily

i usually just search for what i'm interested in
and pick out a recipe that appeals to me. i reject ones that have to many ingrediants. course i start here first.
