First cook with ECC is under my belt and man I love this stuff, totally sold on it.

Very neutral smell, almost no smoke when lighting it up, a little sweet smelling, even the kids playing in the backyard mentioned how good it smelled. Steady long burning - The burn was 6:30 (did a turkey) at 325.; I figure I loaded about 7.5 lbs and by looking at my leftover coals I probably only used 1/2 of the coals, AMAZING. No temp spikes probably the most steady cook I've ever done, rock solid temps. Very little ash.

Can't wait to use this stuff on a low and slow. Highly recommend!

Mr. Curtis...I'd be willing to go in on some of this stuff with you if it can be had. Maybe we need to get together a co-op. We can find out what a pallet costs...try to get a bunch of folks to go in on it and go from there. I can't justify a pallet either...but I'm sick of reading about this charcoal already.

If I can't try the stuff myself somehow...this thread doesn't do me a bit of good. LOL No offense Larry. Might as well be unicorn charcoal.

Hey George, it can be purchased from HERE. They have a pallet sharing thread HERE.

I paid $16 a box delivered.

Don't know if you and the wife ever get down to LA but I believe their warehouse is in Long Beach and rumor has it you can pick-up less than pallet quantities there; you don't have to buy a pallet and save on shipping, however, I do think they have a warehouse handling fee.

When kAmodo had the good ECC, I never made it to San Diego to pick some up. If kOmodo pickup is in Long Beach, it's closer, maybe I'll be able to get some.

I'm with Hayden. If anyone from SE PA, Jersey, MD, DE are interested in doing a pallet share I'd be interested in working something out.

For anyone in the Los Angeles area, my friend wants to sell his Komado Kamado.

He used it once to cook a pizza on a stone.

He sold his Primo to buy the KK.

Now he thinks he doesn't need it because he can do whatever needs doing between his Cookshack and Solaire.

(He's wrong!)

That sucker cost him $3600!

You have no idea how right you are. As I was unloading it I thought, "crap, what if I don't like this stuff?" Thank goodness everything worked out in the end.

*lol*

Sounds like the way I do things...I once showed up at home with 1200 bf of hard maple that I got a deal on, and my son said to my wife, "this is the way Dad thinks..."

At the rate I'm going, I wouldn't mind having a pallet of Lazzari Hardwood Lump.

I live way over on the east coast. I've tried locating this stuff with absolutely no success. If some people want to do a co-op of sorts...I'm in. I'd love to get a decent amount of this stuff.

I was at local Big Lots (closeout) store and saw a bunch of these things. I've read about them on nakedwhiz, but I still passed on them.

I think a small box (4lbs.) went for about $5. I passed, but sorta regreted my decision.

Don, which company, the product Derek posted is from a different company than what I posted.

Don, the guy from Komodo should have contacted you by now.

Well Ed C. did the first overnight with this stuff and it seems to have lived up to it's reputation. Ed's cook went 26.5 hours and he only used about 2/3 of what he loaded. We figured he could have gone about 41 hours total.

I'm doing my first overnight tonight with it and I'm looking forward to similar results and will report back.
