I used to run tankers for a company that hauled liquid asphalt, and liquid asphalt is hauled at high temperatures so it will flow. Before loading the trailers would have to be completely dry because even a little condensation would create enough steam to almost instantly fill the 7000 gallon tank with steam and send a geyser of foaming hot asphalt out the top. It takes very little water to create a whole lot of steam. The question is whether a modest amount of water can generate enough steam rapidly enough to increase the pressure within the WSM to launch the top…..sounds like experiments need to be run.
