Ever frozen cooked spares?

The raw ribs certainly freeze well enough. What about the cooked ones?

Have you done it? How long before you noticed "freezer taste"?
 
Using a Foodsaver vac sealer, yes, with no problem. You have to make sure bones don't puncture the bag, though. Cooked ribs usually don't last long enough around here to have any left over to need freezing.
 
I only did that one time, in the FoodSaver vacuum bags. They only lasted a week in the freezer before we ate 'em, so not long enough to develop any off taste.
 
I agree with the others. Ribs frozen in Foodsaver bags reheat easily, either microwaved or in boiling water. When you cut open the bag, they smell (and taste) just as good as when they came out of the smoker. I don't think you'd find any off-taste if they are vacuum sealed.
