Hi All,

I have a Thermapen and it should measure the heat within 3sec.

When I put the heat sensor e.g. in a brisket or pulled pork it needs much more than fu..... 3 sec.
I did not clock the measurement time but it's round about 15-20 Sec.

Do you have similar experiences or is something wrong with my handling? ;-)

It's extrem expensive here in Germany so I ordered it direct in UK and I try to avoid sending it back.

PS. The final measurement of the heat is exact (I think so. I compared it with my Maverick)
 
I have a thermapen that is about three years old and it's super fast. My wife and I use it weekly, sometimes daily. I would contact the manufacturer and arrange service or replacement.

thanks for feedback.

Mine is new so I will test it in the next two or three cooks. If I am not satisfied with it than I will call the support.
 
You can always do the boiling water test or ice bath test and document it with a video via a phone and then show the manufacturer. They are way too expensive not to be 100% happy.
 
Hi All,

now it works as expected.
I just changed the battery. Not so nice for a one week old product but I am happy that it is working now.
