With the end of a crazy school year, we decided to have a few friends over last weekend for a cookout. Not as big as we’ve had before, but it was nice having friends over again!
I put an 8 pound butt on the night before. Pretty simple rub. Paprika, brown sugar, S&P, chili powder, mustard, onion, and garlic powders. 5ECBF69E-313D-4C81-87A1-1C887795B91A.jpeg
Checked it the next morning and added some coals. D0432D9E-C2C6-42D9-BCC0-15A12102471D.jpeg
Somehow, adding coals caused a temperature spike and it started running about 300* , and got done at 10in the morning!!!FFCC16E2-1180-4F2C-ADE0-E65F1B644155.jpeg
Into a cooler and hoping for the best!!
Yeah, didn’t happen. I heated up some chicken broth and poured over it after pulling. Worked like a champ!!
I didn’t get a shot of the spread; pork, baked beans, grilled corn, Mexican street corn salad, chips and dip, and hotdogs for the boys.
But I did get some pics of the crowd that came over. 04343D5F-5548-43D7-B151-32444B62181E.jpegFB9B5C40-DF9A-409C-AFBA-CBAF0E18D117.jpegFB9B5C40-DF9A-409C-AFBA-CBAF0E18D117.jpegA6C51092-1286-4848-B056-0F3D897DE8FC.jpeg
It was good having people over and it’ll be REAL good to have family here next month!!
