Easter smoke

I would start by checking the bottom, mid and top mating area's with a tape measure at 12,6,3 and 9 o'clock. You should be able to spin the pieces when assembled with little effort.

You could load down with smoke wood, set bottom @ 100% top at 50% and look for the leak that way.

I can put the middle on the bottom by just setting it down. However, the top is a different story. It doesn't fit right. I have to give it a little push to get it to snap it. I see some smoke coming out of the front of the lid but, not the bottom. I have since wrapped in and added water. Temp was at 260 and very rapidly came up to now... 302 like within 7 mins. I will attribute this to having a new smoker and it running hotter than usual. I am gonna go see Clash of the Titans and am leaving it on the wsm wrapped.

Well here is the finished butt. You can pull it apart but, its a little dry. Guess the uneven temps did it in. It tastes good. Btw, I called Weber customer service and they are sending me a new lid. Very nice.

The dry part was probably from the high temps. Looks good though, hey there always sauce right!

Hope the lid helps! Once you get the WSM right and learn what it likes, you will love it!

No problem sir! Did you see mine under the Rabbit Tail thread?

Let us know how the new lid works out for you!

yea I just looked at it. Looks real good. My lid came in and fits perfectly. I also bought some Texasbbq seasoning thinking about smoking another roast on Sat for the UFC fight. !
