I have always wanted to learn to weld. About 6 months ago I finally bought a mig welder and this was my first project. I finally put the finishing touches on it. It was made from old bed frames and wheels I had at the house already. I use 2 wooden ramps to roll it up into my truck so I can take it to work, and eventually to competitions (maybe).

As I said, this was my first ever welding project, so don't laugh. I did grind and fill all joints before painting...

Welding the base frame

Base frame with push handles completed and wheels added ready for sanding and painting

Added a wood top and some toggle clamps to hold the WSM feet down

And the finished product. I have a folding table that slides into that space on the right and up to the wood base. It fits under the lid while hung with no problem

hook to hang folding table while traveling and lids while cooking.

and a threaded rod to hold my thermometer while cooking. Both WSM's have the grommets in them, facing the middle

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but here it is. My first welding project. The bases of the WSM's have toggle clamps to hold bottom section to middle section then I put the cover on to hold the lids on while traveling

Thanks for looking :)

I think your first welding job was a very well thought out project. I especially like the thermometer accessible to both pits. Nice craftsmanship.

that's your 1st time welding. great job. I like that you thought out the lid holder and thermometer holder. nice job. do you ship those to cali?

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna roll it up in the truck and take it to work and do some ribs tomorrow .
