Double-Barrel wood smokers

I absolutely dig stickburners for the optimum smoke flavor potential, but that's just too much cash to spend on something made out of sheet metal. The word "burn-out" comes to mind, and there's a reason why all the best offset smokers are made of heavy gauge stuff like 1/4inch.

I have never used a double barrel before but what I have read is that the flavor of the bbq is fantastic but the cooker goes through a ton of fuel. One post I saw said that it goes through almost twice as much wood as a offset of the same size. Also for the size of the cooker unless you cook for a crowd all the time it may be alot more than you need or could ever use. Last objection I see is having a big fire by your knees trying to load that thing just looks like burns waiting to happen.
