Did a Beef Rib Smoke MMM MMM Good!

Good looking ribs. I haven't done beef for a very long time on the grill, but stove a time or two:confused: will when I find a meaty rack. By the way, what was the Flay rub you used?.............................d

By the way, what was the Flay rub you used?.............................d

1T cumin
1T paprika
1T granulated garlic
1T granulated onion
1T chili powder (this was generic chili powder, only kind I can get at bulk prices)
1T brown sugar
1-2T kosher salt (I prefer less salt if possible--recipe called for 2T)
1t cayenne
1t black pepper
1t white pepper

The cayenne gives it a bit of zing which I like (and wifey is meh-->good thing I'm the cook ;) )

No sauce on these. I'm finding I prefer what the rub gives it. Using sauce tends to drown out those flavours you worked so hard to get (IMO).

I like to get my beef ribs when the store has ribeyes on sale. I can usually get bones that haven't been picked clean for $1.69 per pound. The frozen ones are usually pretty thin on the meat side of things.

If it's Flay, there's going to be some heat. I like one quick mop, lightly, about 20 minutes before I take them off and find it melds with the rub and doesn't distract from the rub and bark that's developed. Thanks for the rub recipe.................................d
